Joeri Verbesselt and Wan Lun Yu worked together previously on the experimental short film retreat. They will be presenting the first work for the stage that they have created themselves at the Great Belgian Dance Showcase.
Joeri Verbesselt is looking for imaginary visions of the future in the relationship between violence and ecology. He recently graduated as an audiovisual artist from LUCA School of Arts, Sint Lukas, Brussels and as an art historian from KU Leuven. He lives in Brussels and has begun artistic research in Taiwan. In 2019, he will be working on the film moederschepen, with support from the Flemish Audiovisual Fund.
Wan Lun Yu (°1990) is investigating how she can use her personal intuition to create body movements. She graduated from Taipei National University of Arts with a degree in dance, and works in both Taiwan and Belgium. She is a freelance performer and maker. She is currently touring with the award-winning dance theatre piece Kids by Liu Kuan-Hsiang and is a rehearsal assistant for Ning Wang. She has received support from the National Culture and Arts Foundation in Taiwan for the creation of her own work in 2019.
