De Grote Belgische Dansvitrine

Hildegard De Vuyst

She first worked as a dramaturge at the end of 1994, for Het muziek Lod. When Lod entered into a co-production with Les ballets C de la B for Tristeza Complice in 1995, this was the start of a long cooperation with director Alain Platel. She also worked as a freelancer with other choreographers from the same stable: Koen Augustijnen (To crush time) and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui (Rien de rien). In the meantime she gave workshops (dance theatre) in Amsterdam, Lublin or Aarhus; taught at the Rits, the Brussels school for actors and directors; established a publication regarding the arts centres in Flanders (Alles is rustig) in cooperation with the Flemish Theatre Institute, …

From 2001 her life took a new direction: there was a new management at the KVS in Brussels, and she started there as dramaturge. She first arrived in Palestine in 2004 thanks to Platel. This later led to the PASS (Performing Arts Summer School), a long term project with young Palestinian performing artists which she has coordinated since 2007, a cooperation between the KVS, Les ballets C de la B and the A.M. Qattan Foundation in Ramallah. The high point of this is the production Badke with 10 Palestinian dancers which travelled to Palestine in spring 2014.

Since September 2016 she has been part of the team of Les ballets C de la B and has helped to shape the Festival de Marseille as dramaturge.
