Lisi Estaras studied dance in Cordoba, Argentina, and at the Rubin Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem. After that she joined the Batsheva Ensemble in Tel Aviv.
Since 1997 Lisi has been collaborating with les ballets C de la B: as a dancer and co-creator in Iets op Bach, Wolf, VSPRS, Pitie!, C(H)oeurs and Tauberbach by Alain Platel and in Tempus Fugit by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Lisi has since choreographed performances on her own and in collaboration with other artists like Bartime (Campo, Ghent), Cocina Erotica and No Wonder (Constanza Macras, Schaubühne Berlin), Leche (Passerelle, Kortrijk), A distancia (Teatro Real, Cordoba, Argentina),The speech (Festival Equilibrium Rome).
In the last three years she has expanded her choreographic work and research, both in Belgium and internationally. In 2014 she choreographed Hiob for Sandra Strunz (Theater Bonn). In 2015 she choreographed Das Brennende Haus, directed by Emilio Garcia Wehbi and Maricel Alvarez (Stad Theater Bern). In the summer of 2016 she collaborated with Lies Pauwels for HETPALEIS (Antwerp) in The Hamilton Complex. For Learning how to walk (NTGent) she collaborated with Benny Claesens.
Together with Ayelen Parolin she created La Esclava, which premiered in 2015. Her latest play, Monkey Mind, premiered in Campo (Ghent) in 2016 and is currently touring Belgium.
Lisi is currently working on the preparations for the Monkey Mind Festival for the Dansand festival in Oostende. She is also involved in the educational project organized by les ballets C de la B. Lisi holds workshops and master classes, both in Belgium and abroad.
